About Me

Hi I'm Steve! I've been an animal lover all my life, with my childhood being a parade of various dogs, cats, rabbits, hamsters, gerbils, goldfish and other assorted furry critters. My occupation for years has been as a web and graphic designer, but I decided to take a step back from my usual day job in order to live a more healthy and rewarding life in the great outdoors with my favourite people - dogs!

As a long-time dog owner and lover (that's me and my beautiful boy Max in the pictures!), I well understand how precious people's dogs are to their owners. They're an important and much loved part of the family, and should always be treated as such. I aim always to treat each doggy client with the same care and attention I would treat my own dog - with patience, love and kindness, always. And for their owners' complete peace of mind I'm fully insured with Pet Business Insurance, am DBS checked (please feel free to ask to see my certificate of proof), and with a certificate in dog first aid.

My Approach

I always meet new customers and their dogs in their home, where they're most comfortable, and make sure I know all about their dog's character, habits, likes/dislikes, and specific requirements (eg. whether the dog needs solo walks or is happy to walk in a group with other dogs). Once the owner decides whether or not they feel I am a suitable walker for their dog, I ask them to complete a quick pet information sheet about their dog, a veterinary release form in case their dog needs to see a vet while in my care, and a basic dog walking contract. This is the boring part, but it's quickly dealt with and provides my customers with complete peace of mind that their dog is on safe hands when their with me.

Pets as Therapy

I'm currently a member of the Pets as Therapy non-profit support programme, where fully vetted volunteers get the opportunity to take their pets into place like care homes, hospitals, hospices, schools and prisons, and bring smiles to many faces. I've been lucky enough to have the opportunity to see the difference a waggy tail and a wet nose can make to people who might be going through a particularly hard time in their lives.

Please feel free to contact me any time to discuss whatever your requirements may be for dog walking and pet visiting. I'm very flexible and always happy to find a solution that suits your specific situation, location and time limitations.

I hope to hear from you soon!

Steve

Steve is the only dog walker I trust with my dog. I've had a couple in the past, they've either let me down or my dog doesn't seem very worn out when home. Steve has gone above and beyond, he treats my dog as his own, always turns up and gives my dog the best experience. I hate leaving my dog to go to work. But since Steve has been walking her I come home to a happy, tired dog. In fact I think she prefers Steve to myself, she goes berserk whenever she sees him now. Thanks Steve you're simply the best.
