Frequently asked questions

Hopefully any questions you might have will be answered on this page, but if not, please feel free to contact me so that I can provide any extra information you may require.

Will I meet you before you walk my dog?

Yes, absolutely. It's really important that we meet in person before any concrete arrangements are made so I can explain how I work, provide you with copies of my insurance, DBS check and first-aid documentation, and most importantly so that I can get to know and make friends with your dog when they are happy and comfortable at home with you around. I'll answer any questions you might have, and make arrangements for picking up and dropping off your dog.

How many dogs do you walk at any one time?

I prefer to walk a maximum of four dogs at any one time, though this can be increased to more in certain circumstances.

Can I specify a particular time for my dog to be walked?

Daily solo and group dog walks are normally carried out between 9am and 5pm, though pick ups may be earlier and drop offs may be later. Exact timings depend on the dogs on a particular day and traffic conditions and weather etc, so it's not always possible to pinpoint exact timings but I will always try to walk as close to your requested time as I can.

How long do the walks last?

I offer walks of 30, 45 and 60 mins for solo and group dog walks either starting from your home or in local parks and countryside. I'll ask you which you prefer at our initial meeting.

Where will my dog be walked?

I always try to walk your dog as close to your home as possible, either from your front door, or local parks or countryside.

Do I need to be at home when you collect or drop off my dog?

No. Most of my customers are out working when I arrive to pick up or drop off their dog, so keys are either left in a safe, secret place at your property or I hold a copy. All keys in my possession are kept in a secure location and will never be marked with anything other than the name of your dog. I am fully insured and DBS checked, so you can be confident your privacy and security are always completely assured.

What hours do you walk?

My usual weekday hours are 9am - 5.30pm, but I am generally happy to make arrangements outside of these hours in special circumstances.

Can you do evening and weekend walks?

Yes, I can offer evening, weekend or Bank Holiday walks by special arrangement. Please contact me to arrange walks outside my usual days/hours.

Are you insured?

Yes. I am fully insured with Pet Business Insurance for your peace of mind.

Can I book occasional or emergency walks when the need arises?

Yes. I try to be as flexible as possible when it comes to booking walks. Just give me a call or email me to sort out a day/time for your occasional/ad hoc walks.

Do I have to pay for walks upfront?

No. I invoice in arrears and send invoices at the end of the month for that month's walks. I accept payment by credit or debit card, bank transfer and direct debit. I do ask for an initial deposit of £50 when I first start walking your dog.
